FAQ
The detailed questions customers ask before booking — grouped into the four areas that come up most: Pricing, Service Area, Warranty, and Mobile Dispatch.
Section 1
There’s no separate service call fee — the price of the service you book is the total you pay. Diagnostic Scan is a flat $89, Hard Reset is a flat $129, Code Clear is a flat $59, and TPMS Reset is a flat $49. Roadside breakdowns outside a fixed address add a disclosed +$20 surcharge.
All ClearCommand services are flat-rate. There is no hourly labor meter — what you see at booking is what you pay, regardless of how long the work actually takes. The flat rate already covers travel, tool setup, and the procedure itself.
We confirm the price in writing before any work begins — either at booking (online quote) or on-site after the technician reads your vehicle’s codes. If the on-site diagnosis finds something different from the booked service, the technician explains the revised scope and you approve the new quote in writing before work continues. Nothing happens to your vehicle without your explicit go-ahead.
Section 2
ClearCommand serves the Greater Houston metro area. Our primary coverage zones are Houston (Inner Loop, Montrose, Heights, Midtown, EaDo, Memorial, Bellaire, Meyerland, West University), Sugar Land, Katy, The Woodlands, Pearland, and Spring. We also service surrounding suburbs — enter your zip on the Service Area page to confirm.
For a fixed address (home, office, parking garage) there’s no travel fee built into the price — it’s already included in the flat rate. For roadside breakdowns and parking-lot calls outside a fixed address, there’s a disclosed +$20 surcharge to cover the additional dispatch logistics.
We operate 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends. Emergency roadside diagnostics (car won’t start, severe warning lights) are often scheduled same-day. Standard appointments book 1–3 days out depending on demand, with a precise arrival window sent once your booking is accepted.
Section 3
Every service is backed by a 12-month / 12,000-mile parts & labor guarantee — whichever comes first. If the same issue we diagnosed and resolved returns within that window, we come back out at no additional charge to re-inspect and resolve it. Coverage excludes new faults unrelated to the original service and any damage caused by the vehicle owner after the service is performed.
Contact us within your 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty window with your booking reference, a description of the recurring symptom, and any dashboard photos or videos you can capture. We schedule an on-site re-inspection, confirm whether the issue is warranty-eligible, and resolve it on the spot or refer you to the right specialist at no charge.
Section 4
After you submit the booking form we email a confirmation within 2 hours. Once accepted, you receive a precise arrival window. The technician arrives in a fully marked vehicle, performs the diagnostic or reset procedure on-site, walks you through every code and every action taken in plain English, and hands you a written summary before leaving.
Have the vehicle parked with the keys ready and the OBD2 port accessible (under the dash, sometimes behind a small panel — the technician can help locate it). If a prior repair invoice or dealership printout is available it helps provide context but isn’t required. Payment is collected on-site after the service completes — cash or card — and nothing is charged upfront.
